C) For example: A six-sided die is tossed.
Find the probability.
OK remember that there are 1,2,3,4,5,6 numbers on the die!
So.... P(3 or 4)= 1/6 + 1/6= 2/12= 1/6 (Remember there is no number that is 3 and 4)
And.. P(4 or even) = 1/6 + 3/6 = 4/6 - 1/6 = 3/6 = 1/2
(Remember you have to subtract the sum from the number that is actually 4 and even...and that's only the 4)
D) Please know the difference between MUTUAL EXCLUSIVE & INCLUSIVE
EXit one at a time, but go INside together. Know the definitionof both!!!!!!!!
E) Please know the difference between Independent & Dependent
F) Please know the every time you pull a marble out of the bag, the sample size getting smaller. For instance if you have 4 red marbles and 3 yellow marbles. What is the probability of drawing a red marbles and then drawing a red marble again without replacing the first marble?
Think about it, the probability of pulling a red marble out the bag is 4/7, but when you go back the probability of you pulling the second red marble is 3/6 because you decreased your sample size and took one of the red marbles away after you pulled the 1st red marble out. So the probability is 4/7 times 3/6 = 12/42 which reduces to 2/7.
G) Please know that there are only 52 cards in a standard deck of cards. So you have 13 spades, 13 clubs, 13 hearts, 13 diamonds. You have 4 of the following K,Q,J,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. (Forget about the Aces and Jokers)
